FAQ
Pricing and sponsorship
What you pay, which models are sponsored, and how programs work.
What do I pay?
Nothing for work on sponsored models. Work on other models costs the model's own price plus 5%. Hosting is separate, at the cloud's own price. No subscription, no charge per AI teammate, no equity. See Pricing.
Which models are sponsored?
The ones the Foundation's partners sponsor. The list grows as partners join. Your program says which ones you can use, and for how long.
How do I get sponsored access?
Apply and tell us what you want to build. The Foundation selects people for each program. See Apply for access.
Does sponsorship cover hosting?
Hosting is separate, at the cloud's own price, unless your program covers it.
How long does a program last?
Each program sets its own length. You know it before you start.
What happens when a sponsorship ends?
Your business keeps running. The Model Router keeps using the best model for each task, at the model's own price plus 5%. The record shows which tasks ran on sponsored models.
Do I need a ChatGPT or Claude subscription?
No. Every model runs through ZB Stack, on one balance.
Who is behind the Foundation?
The Zero Build Foundation is a nonprofit started by the people behind ZB Stack. AI labs, cloud providers and corporations fund it with models and computing. ZB Stack is the company; it earns 5% on work that is not sponsored, and nothing else. See Sponsored models.
